LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- A special party was held Friday for kids who all go to the same school, but rarely see each other, if ever!

Arkansas Connections Academy celebrated the end of its first successful year with a pizza party. Students from all over the state who attend the virtual public school met each other. They then played games, ate ice cream, and did science experiments.

Nearly 500 students enrolled in the school's first year.

"Our lessons take place virtually. this is just another opportunity for our students to meet in person. They are from all over the state. Today we have families from Jonesboro and Texarkana,” said a school official.

The school enrolls students in grades kindergarten through 9th, but will add 10th grade starting in August.
