Cabot baseball players guest star on the Reading Roadtrip

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Cabot High School baseball team took a road trip today -- not to play baseball, but to read.

They were special guest stars at Central Elementary, where Mrs. Hardcastle's Kindergarten class heard us read "A Book with No Pictures."

Hey, the kids picked it out.

They wanted to test these young players' ability to improvise and think quickly. It's great in baseball and great for the Reading Roadtrip.

It was a double-header because we went to the library for a second read -- a dramatic reading in which a goldfish attacks. It was delightfully scary.

The team has some new fans after today.

And while this was going on in the library, our Arkansan of the Day, Ronnie Goodwin, was in another room reading to other Kindergartners.
