UPDATE - 19-year-old Jermaine Jackson and 18-year-old Carl Turner were arrested on June 23 and 24 in connection to both murders that occurred on June 21.

They have also been arrested for committing a terroristic attack.

PINE BLUFF, Ark. (KTHV) - Pine Bluff police responded to a call around 3:36 p.m. to investigate reported gunshots near 25th and Orange streets.

Soon after officers arrived, several people in a car arrived at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center emergency room, where two males in the car had been shot.

One had non-life threatening wounds, while the other required immediate surgery and later died while in operation.

According to the press release, when the gunshot victims arrived at the emergency room, there was a lot of emotion and a disturbance. Officers took other occupants in the car to the detective office to be interviewed, with the exception of one male who ran from the hospital.

Though the hospital did go on lockdown temporarily, there was never an active shooter, despite reports.

Officers then returned to the crime scene, where they found a car in a ditch at 24th and Fir streets. The car was occupied by a single male who had died from several gunshot wounds.

Both males who were killed were 17 years old.

According to the press release, it is still early in the investigation and detectives have reported that they can not verify the two murders are related, though they believe there is a good possibility.
