PINE BLUFF, Ark. (KTHV) -- The Pine Bluff Police Department is asking the public for help in locating a missing baby.
Eight-month-old Lauren Stokes is currently in the court ordered custody of her paternal grandmother.
On Saturday, shortly after 11 p.m., the grandmother was picking Lauren up from a relative’s home when the child’s biological mother, Antoinette Durham, came out of some bushes and grabbed Lauren out of the car.
Durham then ran to a black passenger car that left the scene going north on Cypress Street. In addition to custody being awarded to the grandmother, Durham has been ordered by the courts to have no contact with Lauren until the court rules otherwise.
Anyone with information as to the location of either Ms. Durham or Lauren is asked to contact the Pine Bluff Police Detective Division at 870-730-2090 or dispatch at 870-541-5300.
