LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The Little Rock Police Department are investigating two shootings after the city's 42nd homicide early Monday morning.

Both of the shootings happened on or near Asher Avenue. The first shooting happened at the Asher One Stop while the second occurred near the corner of Asher and Taylor Street.

Little Rock police say a shooting victim showed up to the UAMS emergency room after the Asher One Stop shooting.

The second shooting happened thirty minutes after the Asher One Stop shooting. Chief Kenton Buckner said the suspect car, a white 4-door Durango shot at a blue Audi.

A man and two women were injured during the shooting. While the women have non-life threatening injuries, the man was shot in the back of the head and is in critical condition.

Police have closed Asher Avenue between Fair Park and University to investigate the shooting. Please use an additional route until further notice.

When asked of an expected decrease in crime in Little Rock, Buckner said he hoped for a decrease by January, but an exact timetable could not be determined.

Buckner also said that police are unsure if the shootings are connected at this time.
