SALINE COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) -- Did you hear it? A loud boom rattled Saline County Tuesday night.

Now, the mystery behind the boom has the internet buzzing with theories, but no answers. Saline County citizens, like Barbara Terrell, heard a loud boom on Tuesday night.

“I can't remember if I was outside or inside, but just this big boom," she said.

One neighbor after another. Each reported hearing the noise around 8 p.m. according to Terrell.

"Is that fireworks or you always think is that gun fire or what," she said.

From those living along the Saline River to those living up the hill in the River Oaks Neighborhood. They all heard it, but saw nothing said Terrell.

“Then, I didn't hear anything else, so I don't know what it was," she said.

No one seems to know. There were multiple calls into the Saline County Sheriff's Office. But despite the calls to report the noise, deputies said the only physical evidence they have is a report of a wall damaged near the Saline River. Terrell is curious.

"I didn't see anything, I just heard it," she said.

They have put a post on Facebook asking anyone who knows anything to call them. Terrell said she hopes they find the culprit.

"It was kind of just a low boom, just one time, a rumbling boom," she said.

Deputies were assigned to investigate this further, but so far have not come up with any valuable information.
