Six earthquakes reported in Arkansas in past two days

According to the United States Geological Survey, there have been six earthquakes in Arkansas in the past two days.

The magnitude of each earthquake was below 2.5 and occurred in Bald Knob, Batesville, Lepanto, Searcy, and Heber Springs. Two of the recorded earthquakes took place in Bald Knob.

The USGS defines any earthquake at a 3.0 magnitude or lower as "not felt except by a ver few under especially favorable conditions."

  • May 10: Bald Knob (1.7 magnitude)
  • May 11: Batesville (2.3 magnitude)
  • May 11: Bald Knob (2.1 magnitude)
  • May 11: Lepanto (1.4 magnitude)
  • May 11: Searcy (2.0 magnitude)
  • May 11: Heber Springs (1.7 magnitude)
