DAMASCUS, Ark. (KTHV) -- An update to a story THV11 has been following for two years.
The state is asking a judge to throw out a lawsuit filed by the city of Damascus over a ruling that the area is a speed trap. Damascus is asking the judge reverse a decision that bans the city from issuing traffic tickets. The sanction was put in place after a lengthy investigation found the city to be a speed trap.
The city argues the law is too vague, but the Assistant Attorney General disagrees and said Damascus was not denied due process and has been given plenty of opportunities to challenge the prosecuting attorney's findings.
