CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) — Jeremiah Baldwin attends Flour Bluff high school.
His mom, Bridgette Baldwin says he was a quiet kid growing up.
"Jeremiah didn't speak until he was three," she said.
But that's definitely not the case now.
Jeremiah is hyper-involved.
"I serve in student council and I also participate, in Business Professionals of America as well as some other clubs," Jeremiah said.
Including the debate team, the Spanish, Math, and Science Honor Society, just to name a few.
Jeremiah's parents say they've never pressured him to take on all of these activities, and they continue to support whatever he wants to do.
"Just encourage him to do all he can, as long as he can, but just don't overwhelm himself."
And Jeremiah doesn't seem overwhelmed yet.
He says he enjoys volunteering countless hours and doing more at school so he can meet different people.
"So for instance in my student council I've got to meet many within my school that I otherwise wouldn't have had the opportunity to meet," he said.
He even created his own club as a freshman called culture love unraveling bigotry.
"And the idea behind that was if people understood or related to other cultures then they wouldn't be so afraid," Bridgette Baldwin said.
Jeremiah graduates in May and will attend UT Austin, but he's not stopping there.
"I would either get my graduate degree or law degree and have the opportunity to better our community starting here in Corpus Christi," he said.
