LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – The Little Rock metro region has a reason to celebrate after the newly-constructed Broadway Bridge has been lauded as a top engineering project.
The new bridge was named as on of the year’s top achievements in bridge engineering at the International Bridge Conference.
The Eugene Figg Medal is given to one bridge each year “for a single, recent outstanding achievement in bridge engineering that, through vision and innovation, provides an icon to the community for which it was designed.”
The new Broadway Bridge opened just five months after the former 93-year-old Broadway Bridge was closed and memoriably imploded.
