Uber Eats drives into Little Rock, partners with 60 restaurants

"We will be able to reach those people that can't necessarily come in and sit an hour and wait on a busy day"

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – Uber Eats launched in Little Rock Wednesday, March 15. Restaurant owners who partnered with the app say they are excited to see how the service will expand their businesses.

Little Rock already has food delivery apps Bite Squad and Waitr available, as well as the ability to order through Facebook. Homer's East restaurant manager, Hayden Clawitter, said he thinks Uber Eats will be even more successful.

“When Uber came to us we thought it was a great idea and it would work better because anyone who has the Uber app can use Uber eats,” Clawitter said.

Sixty restaurants in the Little Rock area partnered with Uber Eats. Customers can log onto the app and place their order at any of these restaurants. An Uber driver will then pick up your food and bring it to your home.

“It’s a really easy way to get food right to your desk without having to wait in line or come find a table,” Clawitter said.

He also said Uber Eats will be useful for customers who get tied up at work and can’t make it to lunch.

“We will be able to reach those people that can't necessarily come in and sit an hour and wait on a busy day,” he said.

Owner of Hawgz Blues Cafe Kristian Nelson said Uber Eats is the second delivery service his restaurant uses.

"Zero complaints. Their drivers are on time. Very efficient,” Nelson said.

He said these services have been great for business.

"I don't have to hire delivery drivers and worry about the liability, which means I don't have to raise the cost of our food,” Nelson said.
