LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – A popular website is allowing people to vote for their top 10 favorite attractions in Arkansas and many of them are right here in Little Rock.
USA Today has released a list of 20 attractions in Arkansas for people to vote on. The 10 with the most votes will be featured on the website.
The Old Mill in North Little Rock sits at number one on the list as of Tuesday.
"It's amazing. It's just wonderful. It's a onetime scenery,” Angle Lewis said.
Angle and her husband Frank were visiting the Old Mill from Mississippi. They said they were told it is the place to go if you are in Little Rock.
“We've read a lot about it in different magazines and thought it would be a good place to come and see,” Frank said. “It's amazing down here, I like the atmosphere, I like the way it's built and going through the Old Mill.”
Angle said the mill is unlike anything she's ever seen before.
“You'll never find this scenery anywhere else in the country. It's beautiful. Just the creation of the mill itself and where it is,” Angle said.
Pinnacle Mountain also sits at number 10 on the list as of Tuesday.
"Pinnacle is uniquely located first of all. We're right near an urban setting. We're close to Little Rock. But if you look out behind me you can't even tell the city is right there,” Kellie Nichols with Pinnacle Mountain State Park said.
She said the mountain attracts over 600,000 visitors from all over the world every year.
"We have tour groups that come in from Japan. We had Egyptian visitors. We had visitors from Lithuania. We've had visitors from Venezuela, Colombia,” Nichols said.
Whether these attractions end up making the official top 10 list, they still are a sight to see right here in central Arkansas.
“It is a gem right here in the Little Rock area. The scenery that we have here, the wildlife that we see every day, it's unbelievable to think we have this so close,” Nichols said.
The list also includes Little Rock Central High School, Petit Jean State Park, Hot Springs National Park, Garvan Woodland Gardens, Crater of Diamonds State Park, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Thorncrown Chapel and more.
