LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - War Memorial Stadium is set to host a Drum Corps International event Wednesday night with nine drum corps competing.
Dubbed the "Marching Music's Major Leagues," the event features some of the best talent in the marching music world.
The Bluecoats are the defending world champions and have been in Little Rock rehearsing their routine all week. The group will be performing their routine "Jagged Line."
Over 1,000 people tried out to be a part of the Bluecoats, but only 160 made the cut. It all began with spring training for 35 days. Each day consisted of 12 hours of practice. Once on tour they can spend anywhere from 6 to 12 hours a day practicing before the big event.
"It's very hot and miserable, but it's worth it in the end," said drum major, Samuel Crawford. "It's one of those things that you sometimes hate it while you're in it, but when you look back on it then we know it's going to be worth it."
Though they are nearing the end of their tour, but they've already been all across America showing off their skills.
If you want to see them perform, the event starts Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. You can purchase tickets at the gate.
