Wow's & wonderment as Little Rock watches eclipse together

The city of Little Rock came together on Monday to watch the 2017 solar eclipse in wonderment, peace, and amazement.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Hundreds gathered together at the riverfront in Little Rock to witness the solar eclipse on Monday.

The 200 glasses that Central Arkansas Library gave away were all gone within half an hour, but that was just the beginning of the watch party.

"I have never seen one before," said Maggie Rothacher who was excited to witness history.

Most haven’t seen it either, but for Mo Sliger it was round two.

"I saw the one 1979. I was young," said Sliger. “I’m enamored by stars and planets and now you get to see two of them lined up here."

And after hours and hours of waiting, the hundreds of people watched as the moon passed over the sun.

"It’s definitely darker and it’s definitely cooler," said Sliger.

That was just one watch party Central Arkansas Library hosted. They also live streamed NASA's coverage of the solar eclipse inside the main library.
