A Memphis elementary school employee is under investigation after a video was shared showing him removing a 7-year-old boy from a school bus after stopping a fight.

According to CBS affiliate WREG, the employee has been removed from Robert R. Church Elementary School while the Shelby County School District investigates the matter.

Kimberly Hardin, the child's parent, said she didn't find see the video until another parent showed it to her over 24 hours later. She said initially that she didn't believe her child, but the video changed her mind.

"They said he had bruises and a concussion because of the way he was dragged, he hit his head," she said.

The boy can be heard in the video screaming for his mother while being dragged off the bus.

Officials with the school district said the employee will face punishment if the student was harmed.
