Updates for Arkansas's 2022 election results

Arkansans will choose their next governor as either Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Chris Jones as well as deciding if recreational marijuana should be legalized.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Election day is finally here in Arkansas voters have until 7:30 p.m. to cast their ballots in the 2022 elections.

The biggest races include deciding who will be the next Governor of Arkansas, the Little Rock mayoral race, and whether recreational marijuana will be legalized.

When you head to the polls, here are some reminders: party affiliations are optional, identification is needed to vote, and if you're still in line when polls closed you are legally allowed to vote.

Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott has successfully been re-elected in his bid for a second term. Steve Landers conceded the race.

Attorney General Leslie Rutledge continues to be in the lead for Lieutenant Governor leading with 62.56% of the votes with 54.55% of areas reporting.

Republican Bruce Westerman wins reelection to U.S. House in Arkansas' 4th Congressional District

10:45 p.m.

The AP has called Republican Rick Crawford as winning the reelection to the U.S. House in Arkansas' 1st Congressional District. 

10:27 p.m.

U.S. Representative Bruce Westerman is leading in the race for U.S. House in Arkansas' 4th Congressional District with 67.92% of the votes with 43.75%

10:10 p.m. 

Issue 4 could legalize recreational marijuana in Arkansas. 

So far about 56.86% of the votes equalling 283,826 are voting "NO" and about 43.14% of the votes equalling 215,369 are saying "YES."

9:55 p.m.

Issue 3 could solidify religious freedom in the state constitution. 

So far about 48.28% of the votes equalling 231,188 are voting "NO" and about 51.72% of the votes equalling 247,646 are saying "YES."

9:41 p.m.

The AP has called Republican Steve Womack the winner for the U.S. House in Arkansas' 3rd Congressional District 

9:40 p.m.

Issue 2 could make it harder for ballot measures to pass in Arkansas. 

So far about 38.85% of the votes equalling 144,064 are voting "NO" and about 61.15% of the votes equalling 226,715 are saying "YES."

9:25 p.m.

Issue 1 could change how the Arkansas legislature works.

So far about 62.05% of the votes equalling 240,232 are voting "NO" and about 37.95% of the votes equalling 146.957 are voting "YES." 

9:10 p.m.

The AP has called Republican French Hill as winner of the reelection to the U.S. House in Arkansas' 2nd Congressional District. 

9:00 p.m.

Frank Scott Jr. is leading in the race for Little Rock mayor with 51.4% of the votes. 

Steve Landers has 38.97% of the votes, Greg Henderson with 8.02%, and Glen Schwarz is currently in last place with 1.36% of the votes.

8:48 p.m.

Lieutenant Governor Tim Griffin is leading in the race for Attorney General with 60.25% of the votes with 2.82% of areas reporting.

8:33 p.m. 

Sarah Huckabee Sanders addressed that no matter how the results turned out, Arkansas was going to make history tonight.

In her victory speech, she said that serving as Arkansas's 47th Governor and first female Governor will be the honor of a lifetime.  

She also addressed that she and her father Mike Huckabee will be the first father-daughter governors anywhere in the country.

8:30 p.m.

Attorney General Leslie Rutledge is leading in the race for Lieutenant Governor with 53.54% of the votes with 1.43% of areas reporting.

8:12 p.m.

Frank Scott Jr. is leading for Little Rock mayor with 51.6% of the votes so far.

8:00 p.m.

So far about 3,826 votes equalling about 66.38% of the votes have voted "NO" for Issue 4 to legalize marijuana.

1,938 votes equalling about 33.62% have voted "YES" for Issue 4 to legalize marijuana.

7:46 p.m.

Issue 4 could be rejected based on how poorly it did in Pulaski County with even lower returns expected for Election Day votes and from other counties.

7:33 p.m.

Republican John Boozman wins reelection to the U.S. Senate from Arkansas.

7:32 p.m.

The AP has now called Sarah Huckabee Sanders as the Governor of Arkansas.

7:30 p.m.

The polls have now closed. We will update you with the results as soon as we have them.

6:30 p.m.

There is exactly one hour left until the polls close. Remember, as long as you are in line before polls close you are allowed to cast a vote. 

5:30 p.m.

Chris Jones' team is prepping for the watch party. The governor candidate, who was campaigning in southern Arkansas, is not expected to arrive in Little Rock until the polls are closed. 

4:30 p.m. 

Responsible Growth Arkansas sets up their watch party as they wait to see whether or not recreational marijuana will be legalized in the state. 

3:30 p.m.

Republican Lieutenant Governor candidate and current Attorney General Leslie Rutledge tweets her support for party-mate Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Rutledge's democratic opponent Kelly Krout posts online to promote her campaign.

2:30 p.m. 

Little Rock mayoral candidate Steve Landers shares online that he has voted in the 2022 elections.

Arkansas governor candidate Sarah Huckabee Sanders shares online that she has voted alongside her family. 

12:30 p.m.

Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott Jr. visits voters at Second Baptist Church, John Barrow Road, and the Dunbar Community Center ahead of Tuesday's election night.

11:30 a.m.

Gov. Asa Hutchinson encourages Arkansans to cast a vote in the 2022 elections. Polls are open until 7:30 p.m. Arkansans can find their polling location here.

Arkansas governor candidate Chris Jones shares an online endorsement from state publication Northwest Arkansas Democrat Gazette.  

8:30 a.m. 

Arkansans hit the polls for Election Day, as several candidates in the 2022 races take to social media to encourage voter turnout. 

7:30 a.m.

The voting polls are now open. They will close at 7:30 p.m.

If you are still in line when polls closed, you are allowed to still cast a vote.
