ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. (UNIV. OF ARK.) – In just his fourth start as a member on the PGA TOUR, former Razorback Austin Cook entered the weekend with a one-shot lead and pulled away from the field to capture a four-shot victory at the RSM Classic at Sea Island Golf Club.

With the victory, he pockets $1.1 million in prize money and earns full exempt status on the PGA TOUR through the 2019-20 season. Cook entered the week with plenty of experience at the Seaside Course at Sea Island Golf Club, having played in four different SEC Championships on the course.

He earns 500 FedEx Cup points and invitations to play in the 2018 Masters, 2018 Players Championship and the 2018 PGA Championship. He now ranks third in the FedEx Cup rankings on the young season.

A four-year letterwinner for the Razorbacks, Cook carried a 73.3 collegiate stroke average and earned SEC All-Freshman team honors in 2010 and All-American honors in 2011. He was named to the PING All-Region team in 2013, and was recognized by the league as the 2012 SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year and a member of the SEC Community Service Team.

Cook was bogey-free through 36 holes and took a one-shot advantage into the weekend where he held steady and never surrendered the lead. He finished the week with 23 birdies, 47 pars and just two bogeys. He recorded rounds of 62-66-66-67 – 261 (-21) to post a four-shot victory on the field.

Two other former Razorbacks made the cut, as Andrew Landry finished T-4th at -14 overall, while David Lingmerth was T-17th at 11-under.

In total, the three former Razorbacks combined to earn nearly $1.5 million at the RSM Classic.
