NLR's redeem team ready for 2018 conference slate

North Little Rock has never been shy of the spotlight. On the brightest stage NLR has a history on performing at their best

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (THV11) - North Little Rock has never been shy of the spotlight

On the brightest stage NLR has a history on performing at their best. But in 2017, for the crucial cats… It didn't happen.

"We bring it up every now and then. I remember We were in the dressing room and I said remember how this feels" says head coach Johnny Rice.

The feeling was defeat. Down one with six seconds left just like that, the clock runs out on your state championship dream. Senior Ray Fresh recalls it all too well, "I remember that play everyday, just one point – one point."

A year later though it's not disappointment you find at Small-tell. It's encouragement.

The Cats are 12-3 this season but haven't played a home game since November! "Our goal is to win a state championship, and that big names. We come to fight everyday we try to come in and hustle everyday no matter what our name is."

No matter the name on the back, the name of the front still doesn't mind that spotlight."I think we've built the culture of winning and competing the right way."
