LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (THV11)- A break is probably what all these guys could use right now. It’s 95 degrees in the middle of July. Scooter Register doesn’t see it that way.

“Really weather wise it’s been great, hasn’t been real hot. Really today is not bad, I mean it’s warm but it’s not humid today. The bottom line is repetition and you have to do it if you’re going to be successful.”

Entering his 43rd season coaching, Coach Register hopes to bring that success back to Little Rock Central.

“We’ve got some really good skill people and got some good receivers. Got to get the ball to them, for the first time in a while we’ve got some really good lineman.”

This is of course a Scooter Register coached team, and if you’ve played for him or against him. You know he likes to ground and pound but that doesn’t mean an old dog can’t learn new tricks.

“You still have to run it to win but I think you have to be a little flexible in today’s time too. People do like to see a lot of points.” You could even say his philosophy has changed a bit off the field as well.

“You know I’ve seen this thing go full circle and start again so. So it’s different and kids are different and we’re in a different age of young people.”

The young people may be a little different but the leader on the field remains the same.
