UNDATED (KTHV) – In a long expected move to keep up with other emerging social media platforms, Twitter announced on Wednesday that they will be introducing a new feature to their timeline that will change the way people experience the platform.
According to Twitter, you can flip on the feature in your settings on mobile or desktop. After doing that, when you open Twitter after being away for a while, the tweets that you're most likely to care about according to an algorithm will appear at the top of your timeline.
Theses preferred tweets will still appear in reverse chronological order, and the rest of your tweets will appear directly underneath.
If you want to refresh to show only the most recent tweets like normal, you can swipe down on your phone to bring everything up-to-date.
Twitter explains that this feature is already leading to more live commentary and conversations. However, if you don't like the new timeline, you can shut the feature of in your phone settings.
