LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - For the first time in downtown Little Rock history, local foodies will be able to dine at their favorite food truck without having to face the elements.

A new food truck court with modern amenities will bring some of your favorite food trucks together in one place, with a space for indoor dining. It was once a gas station and a car wash, but 801 Chester in downtown Little Rock is about to be a bustling lunch spot.

"Hoping what happens here is that it becomes sort of a destination point," said Scott Hamilton, one of two partners in The Food Truck Stop @ Station 801.

Hamilton said the new indoor dining experience is expected to open on January 19. Seven or eight trucks are set to be parked on the lot. It will also be the new home of Brown Sugar Bakeshop.

"One of the things we're wanting to do is make it a fun relaxed place. So, we've got flat screen televisions, we're going to have free Wi-Fi," described Hamilton.

One of the best things about this food truck park is it's not just for those who work downtown.  Hamilton said it has a close proximity to I-630 for anyone who's traveling through.

"As folks are traveling, people that are here on vacation, hopefully in the summer, it becomes a good destination spot. Something that people can leave Little Rock, and say 'hey, that was pretty cool.'"

Hamilton said customers can grab food to-go or dine inside the former garage.

"To rotate those trucks over a period of time, so you might see the same truck three days in a row, four days, and then you might see another truck," explained Hamilton.

Starting January 19, The Food Truck Stop @ Station 801 will be open Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
