This recipe was sent from THV viewer Delana Allison Green. She says that it's her mothers Dressing recipe that they used to sell pounds of at their family restaurant. Enjoy!
Dressing Recipe
7 cups cooked crumbled cornbread 4 cups lightly toasted bread crumpled 1 heaping tlbs poultry seasoning 1 heaping teas sage 1teas black pepper 1 tlbs salt or to taste Mix dry ingredients well. Add 3 beaten eggs, stir Cook on top pf stove 1 stick butter or margarine with 1/2 cup chopped onion and 1/2 cup chopped celery until tender, add to above ingredients. Heat chicken broth and add 1 can cream of chicken soup, stir and bring to boil. Add broth to mixture until slightly thin, stir until well mixed. Pour dressing into large sprayed baking dish, bake at 350° for about 30 minutes or until golden will be slightly wet until set. For moisture dressing add extra broth until dressing is thin (before cooking).
