LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- No matter what the question, no one can stump Dr. T. Glenn Pait with UAMS. He's cracking open up his medical mailbag to answer your questions.
These are the questions he covered:
-I'm a young woman, 27 years old. My fingernails are very, very soft; they break off and split. Will my bones in my spine also be affected?
-I have a loud ringing in my ears. It started after taking aspirin for my arthritis. My sister said it may be caused by overuse of aspirin. The aspirin really helps. Do you think it's the aspirin?
-I thought coffee was supposed to wake you up, not put you to sleep. A friend told me coffee can also put you to sleep. Any idea what she's talking about?
-Can computer use cause damage to your eyes?
-I play bridge with my 70-year-old friends. My partner has rheumatoid arthritis. Is there a chance I can catch it? She doesn't eat healthy foods. Do you think her eating habits caused her to get rheumatoid arthritis?
-I'm a 64 year-old man and have itching all over. I start to itch in one place and then another and another. I have no rash anyplace on my body - - I just itch. Any ideas or suggestions for my "itching all over" problem?
-Do you know if there is an ancient Chinese medicine that can prevent hangovers? What is its name and does it really work?
