Humane Society of Pulaski County holds membership drive

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The Humane Society of Pulaski County is giving you the chance to be a hero!

The 70-year-old group is pushing to sign people up either through membership grants or through monthly-giving plans, so others can have a chance to be a hero for needy and neglected animals in Pulaski County.

"We have fund-raisers. We have activities like this. We have a lot of things that we do within the community as well to support the idea of rescuing animals," said board member Debbie Howell.

The membership drive kicked off Saturday at the Promenade on Chenal by Just Dogs Gourmet, and levels of memberships vary starting at $25 and increasing to $1,000; those who donate will also get cards with benefits, such as discounts at stores like Doggie Dos and Glamarama. All membership dollars go to support programs at the shelter and toward care and food for abandoned and injured animals.
