LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Black-eyed peas may be traditional for New Year's Eye, but if you are looking for something a little different, Anthony Michael from Cross-Eyed Pig is whipping up brown beans and ham.
Ingredients
2 onions, chopped finely
1 jalapeno
4 cloves of garlic, chopped finely
1 stick of butter
1 lb cooked ham, chopped
7-lb can of pinto beans (from Sam's Club) or 7 cans of pinto beans
32-ounces of chicken broth
Directions
Sauté onion, jalapeno, garlic and butter in large for 10-15 minutes until ingredients are caramelized and translucent. Add ham and pinto beans (with juice) to pot. Season with salt and pepper. Add chicken broth and cook on medium for 30 minutes.
