2nd Annual Barkus on Main pet parade kicks off February 11

The 2nd annual Barkus on Main Mardi Gras pet parade is taking over Main Street on February 11

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Main Street is going to the dogs for the 2nd Annual Barkus on Main Mardi Gras pet parade!

The family-friendly parade will take place on Sunday, February 11 beginning at 2:30 p.m.

The event, sponsored by Hounds Lounge, will kick off at noon and feature live music from Rodney Block, a Rebel Kettle beer garden, gumbo, crawfish and more.

The parade will begin at the intersection of 7th and Main Streets and travel up Main along the Creative Corridor toward the 4th Street intersection.

After the parade, you can hop on over to the Mardi Gras Block Party at the 300 block of Main Street with other hosts Soul Fish Cafe, Brewski's Pub & Grub and CJRW.

Barkus on Main and Downtown Little Rock Partnership were recently presented the 2018 Award of Excellence for “Best New Special Event” by Main Street Arkansas at their January conference in Fort Smith.

Registration to participate in this year’s dog parade is $30 per pet. The first 200 dogs to arrive will receive a complimentary Bark Bar Wag Bag, and all dogs will be eligible for prizes. Prizes will be awarded for Best Pet/Owner Look a-like Costumes, Best Dressed Pet, Best Small Dog Costume, Best Large Dog Costume, Most Original Costume, Best Float and Judge’s Choice.
