CONWAY, Ark. (KTHV) - Conway police are investigating an attempted robbery on Bernard Drive that left one person dead. According to police, the shooting happened around 5 p.m. on Thursday.
In an update broadcast via Facebook Live Major Chris Harris, Patrol Division Commander with the Conway Police Department, told the public the victim has been identified as 18-year-old Demarco Taylor.
Police said this incident was first reported as a home invasion but upon further investigation, it was determined that Taylor and the homeowner knew one another. It was also determined that the homeowner invited Taylor into the home when the attempted robbery took place.
No charges have been filed at this time. The Conway Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact the Investigation Division at (501) 450-6130.
