Police arrest armed felon who stole car, fled traffic stop

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – Police arrest Jacksonville man who stole a car and led officers on a pursuit on Friday morning.

According to Austin Police Chief Bill Duerson, around 5 a.m. an Austin police officer initiated a traffic stop near Apple Hill Road on 30-year-old Chase Dodson. After running the license plate, it was discovered that the car was stolen.

Dodson then drove away starting a police pursuit. While the officer was chasing him, the police car slid into a ditch but there was no damage.

He then ran from the car and was picked up by an unknown person on Highway 319. The passenger in the stolen vehicle was taken into custody for questioning.

Police said Dodson has multiple felony charges. He was found and taken into custody Friday afternoon.
