An Atkins man has been arrested after a woman said he sexually assaulted and raped her from the age of four up until she was 12.

The River Valley Leader reported that 45-year-old Ronnie Lynn Gipson appeared in court on December 15 for a federal bond hearing for the alleged crime.

An investigator with the Pope County Sheriff's Office told that judge that they received information from United States Air Force Special Investigations Officer about an active duty member who admitted she was raped and assault by Gipson during her childhood. She said the sexual assaults happened between the age of four up until she was 12.

The woman then contacted Gipson through Facebook under the supervision of the sheriff's office and the Arkansas State Police. In that conversation, Gipson allegedly admitted to raping and assaulting the victim. He told the woman that she needed to "get over it" after confessing to the crime.

In an interview with police, Gipson said he would use a code when he wanted to have sexual contact with her, asking if she wanted to play. He allegedly admitted to several different sexual acts including oral sex, digital penetration, and sexual intercourse.

His bond has been set at $500,000 and his next court appearance will be held on January 22.
