A Fayetteville man is facing a felony charge after police say he stabbed a man after an argument and then took him to the hospital.

According to our CBS affiliate KFSM, a woman told police that 40-year-old Marcell Guevara and the victim were drinking Saturday morning. The victim then reportedly started arguing with a different woman at the home.

The victim left the house, but he got into another argument outside with Guevara. According to the report, the witness said Guevara came back into the house and claimed the victim fell on a glass table and hurt himself.

Guevara and the woman then took the victim to the Washington Regional Medical Center. Medical personnel at the hospital noted that the man was "bleeding profusely" and "had several wounds."

Police say the victim told staff at the hospital that he was stabbed, but was sedated before any officers arrived.

Guevara was then arrested later that morning and was charged with first degree battery, a Class B felony. He is set to appear in court on March 14.
