Sweet, sensitive, and shy Jydaveous in desperate need of forever family

SHERWOOD, Ark. (KTHV) - Jydaveous, a 10-year-old, who was severely neglected is searching for his forever family.

SHERWOOD, Ark. (KTHV) - THV11's effort to find children up for adoption forever homes continues tonight with Jydaveous. He’s a boy who was severely neglected and now is in desperate need of a family.

Through our partnership with the Arkansas Department of Human Services, Dawn Scott introduces us, with the hope he finds a place to call home.

Jydaveous, a 10-year-old boy, wants just one thing. Well, two things. First, to beat Dawn Scott at his favorite video game. Second, he wants a family.

"He does he wants to be adopted,” said Tiffany Fricks, an adoption specialist for DHA. “And he wants his own family and just somebody that's gonna love him."

At Z82 Retrocade in Sherwood, Jydaveous is in heaven. Sweet, sensitive, and a little shy, but he gets along with other children and has a great sense of humor. Jydaveous loves superheroes and Sonic the hedgehog, playing games, and video games. He's also going into fifth grade.

"He does have some developmental delays so he's a little behind,” Fricks shared. “He's in some therapies, an occupational therapy to try to get his delays overcome, and I will say since January he's made a lot of improvements with those, he's come a long way."

Z82’s owner, Daniel Solis, gifted him with a Sonic the Hedgehog stuffed animal.

"Joy just flat out joy at everything,” said Fricks. “And the owner of this place was nice enough to give him a toy stuffed animal that he's carrying around still with him, so he's perfectly happy right now."

Perfectly happy. Still wanting though, for that one thing, a family.

"He should've had a family long ago, he deserves it,” said Fricks. “He's a great kid, and I hope that this will find that family out there that's for him."

Huge thanks to Z82 Retrocade and its owner for being so generous to Jydaveous.

If you'd like more information about him or any child we've featured in this segment, head to the Arkansas Department of Human Services adoption website. There are no costs associated with adopting a child in state care.
