A-State lands two Little Rock stars

Pulaski Academy's Layne Hatcher and Robinson's Nathan Page will both sign with Arkansas State on National Signing Day.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (THV11) - Pulaski Academy’s Layne Hatcher and Robinson’s Nathan Page have never been afraid of the bright lights.

All that hard work to one day be able to make this announcement.

"It’s a great feeling and I’ve been working to do this my whole life ever since I was a kid playing football. I wanted to go to college and I get to make my dream come true" says Page. Hatcher adds "I knew it was going to be challenging with some of my attributes and I’m super excited about it. It’s a dream come true for sure."

Over the weekend both Page and Hatcher deciding they will play their college football right here in their home state with the Red Wolves.

"They kept it 100 with me and they told me what was up and I just liked it."

Obviously Hatcher draws comparisons to another former Bruin named Fredi Knighten who led the Red Wolves to a conference championship.

"Yeah, I’m definitely not Fredi. I don’t move like Fredi does you know Justice is a great QB. It’s all him and after that I’m going to get a chance to work and obviously it’s on me."

While Page is signing with A-State as a cornerback. Don’t be surprised to see number three catch a few passes from his Little Rock neighbor. "I haven’t talked to him yet but I’d enjoy catching passes from him. He’s a great quarterback and I’d enjoy playing with him."

"Having a guy right down the road makes it even better and it’s just a couple of Arkansas boys doing great things."
