CABOT, Ark. (THV11) - Cabot head coach Jerry Bridges, made history two years ago he led Cabot to their first ever boys basketball state championship. Now they’re fighting for their postseason lives.

“We tried to come in and change the culture years ago, Hayden you know. You were a student here. Once we started going that something we took great pride in and we’re used to playing in March. Let’s not give up on that yet, there is still a lot of ball left.”

With four games to go the Panthers are in a battle for the 6th and final spot out of the 7A central in the state tournament, but time is running out. “It’s very competitive and we just have to our best and go out and compete with those teams” says Senior Noah Allgood.

The Panthers have made the 7A state tournament ten years in a row, a fact not lost on these seniors. “Nobody wants to be that first team to not make it being a senior season it just means so much more and who knows how many more games we got” says Senior Jalen Brown “It’s our last year and I don’t want to be the team that beats that streak.”

One thing we know for sure from two seasons ago. Don’t ever count out Cabot.

“That’s one thing we say, Panthers never quit. We got four games left we still got a pulse guys and we have shot to get a playoff spot that’s something we want to keep going but we know that we’ve got our work cut out and we’re not afraid to take on this challenge.”
