STARKVILLE, MS (THV11) - #3 Arkansas let a 5 run lead slip away as Mississippi State scored 6 unanswered runs to take game one.

The Diamond Hogs took a 4-0 lead in the 2nd inning courtesy of Eric Cole's grand slam, his 8th home run of the season. Blaine Knight was virtually un-hittable through 5 innings until the Bulldog's Luke Alexander launched a 3-run shot off Knight to make it 5-3. Knight tossed 5.2 IP with 5 hits, and three earned runs.

Matt Cronin was called in relief but surrendered the tying hit in the bottom of the 8th inning. Cronin was pulled for Jake Reindl who's first pitch was launched to left by Elijah MacNamee to make it a 6-5 ballgame. The run was charged to Cronin.

Arkansas falls to 10-6 in SEC play. A doubleheader is set to begin at noon on Saturday.
