Arkansas Business: Small stock gains amid corporate earnings

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Arkansas Business) -- Among the big movers yesterday was shares of Boeing fell 2 percent, the most in the Dow, after reporting disappointing revenue.

Shares of Apple rose 3 percent after reporting big gains in iPhone sales on Tuesday. also reporting earnings yesterday after market close was Facebook.

The social media giant beating earnings predictions for the eighth straight quarter.

Green Bay Packaging Inc. upgrading equipment

Green Bay Packaging Incorporated of Green Bay, Wisconsin, said Wednesday that it will spend $30 million to upgrade equipment at its Arkansas Kraft Division plant in Morrilton.

The company said the project, which will increase efficiency and production, also includes "significant infrastructure upgrades."

Work is scheduled for completion in July 2015.

The Arkansas Kraft plant produces between 420,000 to 440,000 tons of paper per year.

Coin designs unveiled for U.S. Marshals Museum

The U.S. Mint has unveiled designs for three commemorative coins that will be sold next year to raise money for a planned $50 million U.S. Marshals Museum in Fort Smith.

The coins, which honor the contributions of the U.S. Marshals Service, were unveiled Wednesday at the Justice Department in Washington.

The U.S. Mint will begin selling the coins in January, ahead of the planned 2017 opening of the new museum.

Organizers plan to break ground on the museum on September 24, the 225th anniversary of when President George Washington established the marshals.

The museum will be built along the Arkansas River in Fort Smith.

Proceeds from the coins will benefit the museum and other organizations.
