LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) — Fox & Hound, a staple bar of the North Little Rock area, shuttered suddenly yesterday, Jan. 3. The restaurant announced the news with a Facebook post that simply reads "RIP."
Kelly Investment Group owns Fox & Hound restaurants and their CEO was upset with how things turned out for the location.
"It boils down to the fact our lease expired," CEO and owner of Kelly Investment Group Michael Kelly said. "Initially, the landlord agreed to terms for a renewal and then changed the deal. We had agreed with the landlord on a renewal and complete remodel. Unfortunately, the landlord did not honor the verbal agreement. And we had no recourse to get them to do so."
Kelly went on to express regret about the closing.
"We did not want to close the location," he said. "We’re all very disappointed. But it was out of our control. We are looking for a new location in Little Rock."
The sports bar was known for its pool-hall vibe, enhanced by the fact that smoking was allowed. They had 10 professional tables, a robust beer menu and served American pub fare.
