A Washington County District Court Jury on Tuesday found Dr. Robert Hix and Parkhill Clinic for Women were cleared in the 2005 death of 26-year-old Leah Bokermann two weeks after she gave birth.
The lawsuit claimed Bokermann died of a pregnancy-related condition in which high blood pressure and protein build up in the body and that Hix failed to appropriately monitor her.
Attorneys for Hix said the care provided was "entirely appropriate."
Attorney Tab Turner for Bokermann's family told the Northwest Arkansas Times that the family is disappointed but respects the jury's decision. The family has one month to file an appeal.
