HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (KTHV) -- Hot Springs Police have a man in custody for allegedly trying to kill a woman after an argument.

On Apr. 14 at 11:30 p.m. officers from the Hot Springs Police Department responded to the 900 block of Richard Street in reference to a disturbance.

When officers got there they found the victim lying in the driveway.

According to witnesses, the victim and a man, later identified as Jeffery Taylor, were involved in an argument in the middle of the street, and they saw Taylor hit the victim twice in the face.

Witnesses told police they saw Taylor get into his Jeep Grand Cherokee and drive away. Then, witnesses say, Taylor returned and rammed his Jeep into the driver's side door of the car the victim was driving.

Witnesses go on to say Taylor backed his Jeep up and started driving towards them and chased the victim up an embankment.

The witnesses saw Taylor drive his vehicle off a concrete block embankment, saw him climb out of his Jeep and leave on foot.

Police found Taylor near the scene and took him into custody.

Taylor is being held in the Garland County Detention Center with no bond, charged with one count criminal attempt to commit murder, one count domestic first degree batter and two counts first degree criminal mischief.
