There are dozens of new fitness crazes out there that will get you off the treadmill. Zumba is one of the most popular workouts that will have you dancing off the pounds.
At the North Little Rock Athletic Club, you'll find dozens of women grooving to the sounds of Latin and international music. And it's not just about getting a good workout.
"I love Zumba because of the comradery and fellowship that we have when we're working out together," says Zumba participant Melissa Eudy. "It's a great fitness tool, it's fun, it's exciting, it's different."
Tina Hooper is the Zumba instructor at NLR Athletic Club and she says that with this type of exercise, you won't feel like you are working out.
"We get new music constantly, changing the choregraphy; you keep a lineup for awhile so people can learn the steps but you're always changing, putting new songs in, taking old songs out," says Hooper.
Hooper warns that some people may find the first class a little intimidating.
Today's THV producer and new Zumba participant Martha Myrick says she was nervous on her first day but now after nearly two months she's enjoying the benefits.
"You're still working out, you're still sweating, even though you're not doing the right steps like me, at least I'm moving around and I'm not sitting at home," says Myrick.
