FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) -- An early morning accident on I-540 in Fayetteville leaves one man dead and two women injured.
Just before 2 a.m. Sunday morning, a 1997 Mazda Miata driven by Dorothy Hill, 40, of Farmington was traveling Northbound in the Southbound lanes of I-540 when it struck a 2003 Toyota Corolla driven by Kathleen Mellinger, 26, of Fayetteville.
The accident killed a passenger in the Corolla, 26-year old Sean Mabrey of Fayetteville and sending both drivers to the hospital.
Police are investigating why the Miata was traveling the wrong direction on the interstate.
