CAMDEN, Ark. (AP) -- Thunderstorms packing strong winds damaged an unoccupied motel and some homes in southern and central Arkansas.
According to the National Weather Service, a downburst with winds of 75 mph blew the roof off an unoccupied motel onto a vacant house in Camden about 6:30 p.m. Sunday. A downburst is caused by air rapidly flowing down and out of a thunderstorm.
There were no reports of injuries.
Authorities also said strong winds knocked trees onto power lines and houses in Sherwood and blew down trees near Sweet Home in Pulaski County. Officials also said several homes were slightly damaged in Lockesburg in Sevier County.
Only 572 Entergy Arkansas customers remained without power in Arkansas, 388 in Garland County.
