LITTLE ROCk, Ark. (January 13, 2012) -- Ever wanted to be a part of a minor league football team with an emphasis on a safe, competitive environment?
Then the Arkansas Sabers might be the team for you. They haven't been around very long but they are already making a name for themselves in the semi-pro arena. In fact, they were named 2011 Alliance Football League Champions!
Men 18 years and older are eligible to participate with the opportunity to move on to College and/or paid Arena/NFL teams.
The Arkansas Sabers next tryout for 2012 will be held this Saturday, January 14 at D1 Sports Complex off Cantrell Road in West Little Rock.
Tryouts are open from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Registration fee is $25.00 per person; non-refundable. Every player must go through the tryout to make the team. THV's Mark Edwards spoke with Coach Charles Reynolds about the future of the Sabers. Click on the video link!
Equipment needed: workout gear, tennis shoes or running shoes, cleats.
Those selected will be responsible for a $50 players fee to be paid before the first game of the season.
Tryouts will be conducted in an NFL style combine. The results will be recorded for future use.
Dance team tryouts will be held February 11.
