UNDATED (CNN) -- The Centers for Disease Control is issuing a reminder to people in the health care industry.

Insulin pens should never be reused on multiple people even if the needle is changed. The pens are used to inject people with insulin.

They can be used multiple times, but the CDC says they should only be used on one person.

The CDC reissued its warning after it says it got increasing reports that the pens are being used on multiple patients.

The government agency says reusing the pens puts people at higher risk for blood-borne diseases such as hepatitis and HIV.
