LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- While many are giving their reactions to the State of the Union tonight, let me offer mine. Here's Craig's Twist 49.
Here are the stats:
President Obama was interupted by applause 45 times.
He got 29 standing ovations, five of those included Republicans.
The biggest of these came when the President said freedom endured because of the work of the armed forces. That one got the vice-president and the speaker to stand up.
Unfortunately according to Gallup Poll research the audience for the State of the Union has declined over the last 30 years. Only one President got a bump in approval ratings after speaking. Bill Clinton.
The rest of the time you get the feeling Americans are on to these people.
We've come to regard it as a big infomercial for more of the same until one leader steps forward and regards the opposition party with appreciation.
