LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) Students from across Arkansas celebrated Black History Month today by putting their minds to the test. More than 70 students competed in the seventh annual Arkansas Black History Quiz Bowl.
THV's Stefanie Bryant moderated the contest held at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center this morning. Volunteer Linnsey Sanders was pleasantly surprised at the size of the audience with about 200 people attending and some keeping close tabs on the scores.
"We have audience members who are keeping a bracket like you would do for basketball and they have their bracket and they are able to keep score as well," says Sanders.
The Quiz Bowl was divided into two divisions. One for middle school students and the other for high schoolers.
