OZARK, Ark. (AP) - An Arkansas judge is sealing the court records of a 15-year-old who was charged as an adult in his sister's death.
In an order filed Thursday, Judge William Pearson wrote that he anticipates Colton Harvey's attorney will request that the case be moved to juvenile court, where proceedings are confidential.
Pearson wrote that keeping the records open would defeat the purpose of confidentiality if he were to grant such a request.
Prosecutors charged Harvey with first-degree murder last month in the death of his 16-year-old sister, Candace.
Authorities say Harvey showed up at the Franklin County sheriff's office on Jan. 15 and said he had just killed his sister. Candace was found shot to death at their family's home near Ozark.
Harvey could face life in prison if convicted.
