Google's new privacy policy starts today

    UNDATED (CNN) -- Google is keeping a closer eye on you. The company's new privacy policy takes effect Thursday.

    The move merges 60 different privacy policies into just one for all of its services.

    From now on, when you search the web using Google, information will be collected and linked to your Gmail, YouTube and Google Plus accounts.

    Google says it'll use the information to better customize your search results.

    And, you'll start seeing more ads targeted to your preferences.
    Google says it won't sell your information to advertisers.
