MORRILTON, Ark. (KTHV) -- Earlier this week, we reported that Morrilton police were investigating an alleged home invasion.
According to police, a woman confined to a wheelchair reported to authorities that someone forcibly entered her home and attacked her, telling her to "send a message" to her son.
Police say the woman had marks on her face and shoulder.
Because these types of incidents are so rare in Morrilton, the Conway County Sheriff's Office assisted Morrilton police.
Throughout interviews with several family members and the victim, police say several inconsistencies became apparent. In a follow-up interview, she admitted to investigators that she simply fell out of her bed and hit her wheelchair, which resulted in the injuries.
Police say the investigation is over, but it has not been decided if the woman will face charges.
