NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (April 19, 2012) - More than half a million babies are born too soon each year. That's where the March of Dimes steps in.

"One in seven babies is born premature in Arkansas," says Natalie Hedrick with March of Dimes. "One in eight on a national level so it's pretty significant. March of Dimes is a hundred percent donor funded and we are all things mom and baby so we have an advocacy program, support programs, legislative affairs personnel; we're a jack of trades."

One focus is funding research to find answers to the problems that threaten babies. And they depend heavily on fundraisers, like Craws for a Cause.

In it's 5th year, Craws for a Cause is Arkansas' largest crawfish boil with over 5,000 people in attendance and 15,000 pounds of crawfish consumed every year.

The fundraiser is taking place Saturday, April 28th from 7 p.m. to midnight at Dickey Stephens Park. Tickets are $45 person in advance and $55 at the door. Price includes all-you-can-eat crawfish, jambalaya, fixins, soft drinks and beer. There will also be live music by Big Stack and Tyrannosaurus Chicken.

All proceeds will go towards the March of Dimes program at Baptist Health called NICU FAMILY SUPPORT.
