UNDATED (AP) - Forget the elaborate wedding proposals, now prom invitations are becoming major productions.
Alex Chichkov, 17, hired a plane towing a banner to ask his girl to the big dance. The Tampa, Fla., teen paid 600 bucks for the aerial message. He says his girlfriend of two and a-half years deserved something special.
Other so-called prom-posals have involved flash mobs, scavenger hunts and homemade music videos. Nancy Darling, an Oberlin College psych professor, says the elaborate prom invitations show the romantic side of teens.
